As a neurosurgeon, informed consent procedures with my patients are part of my daily routine. Patients often have the same questions and express their need for a more visual explanation. Of course, the legal side must also be taken into account. Expert opinions often decide to the disadvantage of the practitioner because a complication was not well documented in the informed consent.
It is time to develop a digital and easily reproducible procedure that takes into account the individuality of each patient and at the same time provides full legal protection.
Videos of many different operations are available, either partially or comprehensively. But these are practically not individualized and thus one loses again time explaining the personal differences to patients and one risks legal omissions. The video must be individualized for the patient immediately!With medudoc's tool, medical education and documentation are digital, visual and, in particular, individually tailored to the respective patient. On average, this saves half the time for clarification discussions. The time gained can be invested in the treatment of other patients.
